Hey guys, long time eh? I need some quick advice after a system crash during a migratepv operation (you guys using EMC might want to look at IZ17744).

lsvg -l sapvg excerpt:
Code:
0516-1147 : Warning - logical volume mqm may be partially mirrored.
mqm jfs 48 54 11 open/syncd /var/mqm

Should be one-to-one, no mirror on AIX side.

lsvg -M excerpt:
Code:
hdiskpower14:255 mqm:6
hdiskpower14:256 mqm:15
hdiskpower14:257 mqm:24
hdiskpower14:258 mqm:33
hdiskpower14:259 mqm:42
hdiskpower24:138 mqm:1:2
hdiskpower24:139 mqm:10:2
hdiskpower24:140 mqm:19:2
hdiskpower24:141 mqm:28:2
hdiskpower24:142 mqm:37:2
hdiskpower24:143 mqm:46:2

This is obviously bad. Tried syncvg, synclvodm, migratepv, rmlvcopy, and get various errors you might expect. Before I start trying to do things with lmigratepp, which might not work anyway, I wanted to get some ideas from everyone.

and what if you unmount /var/mqm and then cplv your LV to new LV? does the command fail?

if not, I would use such new copy of LV for the /var/mqm fs.

if everythinh is fine I would remove source LV or keep it unused for some time.

here is described something can be helpfull to test it:

I will have to try that method if this happens again. I determined that MQ was not being used on this server and a rmfs fixed everything. Thanks for your reply.
