The system admin before me left old printers in the SAM listing, and they no longer exist. The problem is that SAM and HP jetadmin will not let me remove these printers because they aren't connected. Additionally, the spool will not start until they are removed. Is there a particular file that I can vi to remove these printers from the system? The entries are still there, and the printers are not, but I can't get rid of the entries. Thanks!

IT is not like the printer can't be removed if they are not connected..you can remove using SAM.
Check the files at /etc/lp.
