I've been using Windows ME (upgrade ver.) for sometime.
Now I just installed the Full version. When I installed my network card software for Internet access (Enternet 300)...
Each time I boot the computer, a window keeps appearing to "Enter Network Password". I have no password. I just press the return key. How can I disable this annoying window from popping up? I never had this in the upgrade version.

Thanks mucho!

Open My Network Places, right-click on your network connection, select properties and change the default login to Windows Family Logon rather than Microsoft Networking Logon. The details of this might be off slightly (Haven't got an ME box in front of me), but this is the basics of what you need to do.

Thanks for the quick response.
But, unfortunately, it does not work.

1. deleted the PWL files.
2. When I opened My Network places, two icons
appears...a)add network place ...and... b) Entire Network.
When I tried to get the properties of the "entire network", error window appears saying that it is not available.

Why does the "Network Password for Microsoft Networking"
keep popping up, even if there is no password in the first place...? You would think, that if there is no password, it should skip the process....I guess it would be too easy...

Thanks,
Mark Geer

Right-click "My Network Places" and choose properties. Then follow jaeddy's instructions.

If that doesn't help, try this FAQ. Some of the options you'll see won't be worded the same:
