Hi Folks

This prob can't be done but is there a way in Excel to remove a link in a worksheet to a worksheet that has been deleted as when the active workshhet is opened I'm asked if I want to update info from the linked sheet.
i'm heading out of the office so will not be able to answer any replies today but will get back tomorrow.

All help received with thanks

Comboy.

Hi Blue

Yep tried edit|links but cant delete the link from there all I can do is update/open or change the source which leads me to think that the link can't be removed.

Thanks,

Comboy

Hi again,
Can you locate the formula that contains the link? Using the Ctrl + ~ (tilde) command, you can reveal the formulas. Then search for something that appears in the name of the linked spreadsheet. Maybe you can find the formula and eliminate it.

Remember that links can be stored in defined names too. Do menu command Insert/Names/Define to see the names defined for each sheet.

Click on each name to see it's definition, and if any of them contain references to external workbooks, then delete them.

Cheers, Glenn.

Thanks guys

I'll try the above and will get back to you if it doesn't work.
