Removing lines from a data file

HI,

I have a data file that at the top has several lines that i want to remove. The lines start with "old" and "new".

old 29: AND
new 29: AND

Any suggestions on how to remove these lines from my data file? :-D
 
sed -e '/^old/d;/^new/d' filename -----------
