Hi all,

I don't have much experience with G650 port networks and need any tips (do's, don't do's or any guidelines) to remove a G650 from a branch site.

We are trying to decommission a branch site with CM on HP DL360 and G650. Before unplugging the equipment, I am trying to remove all the CM programming. But, I have not done removing a G650 before. I am sure for you to remove CM programming for G650, there shuold be some guidelines such as do this first, do this next, and so on as CM doesn't allow you to remove an object before removing another object.

If you have any tips and/or any guidelines for removal, please let me know.

Thanks,

DG

This worked for me:

HISTORY
Date of Loaded Translation: 10:00pm Wed May 18, 2011

Date Time Port Login Actn Object Qualifier

8/06 4:06 MAINT kevin rem survivable-p FedWay_ESS <-- Deleted the ESS server
8/06 4:03 MAINT kevin rem cabinet 4 <-- Removed the cabinet
8/06 4:02 MAINT kevin cha circuit-pack 4 <-- Deleted the power supplies from the configuration
8/06 4:02 MAINT kevin rem ipserver-int 4 <-- Deleted the IPSI boards
8/06 3:59 MAINT kevin cha circuit-pack 4 <-- Deleted the board from the configuration
8/06 3:59 MAINT kevin rem ip-interface 04a02 <-- Removed the C-LAN board
8/06 3:59 MAINT kevin cha ip-interface 04a02 <-- Disabled the C_LAN board
8/06 3:58 MAINT kevin cha circuit-pack 4 <-- Deleted the board from the configuration
8/06 3:58 MAINT kevin rem ip-interface 04a14 <-- Removed the Crossfire board
8/06 3:58 MAINT kevin cha ip-interface 04a14 <-- Disabled the Crossfire board

All stations & trunks assigned to ports in the Port Network need to be deleted or x-ported.

Hi Kevin,

Thank you very much for your quick response. It helps a lot!

You could also reload CM to wipe out all translations. If you have access to ProVision you can remove translations that way and let it do the work.

to remove just translations go into etc/opt/defty in cm shell and remove the xln files no need to reload CM (a bit severe this though for what he is wanting to achieve)
