I have two Exchange 2000 servers. The first one is our old Exchange 5.5 that I upgraded to Exchange 2000. I then setup another Exchange 2000 server on newer hardware and moved all the users to over to it. I now want to remove the old Exchange Server, what else do I have to do besides moving all the users.

Thanks,

Mark

Hi,

You need to move several other components to complete your migration.

1. Recipient Update Service
2. Free/busy system folder
3. Offline address book
4. Replicate any public folders over

Also, if you can, when you switch off the old server, dont re-utilise it straightaway. Leave it off and see if you have any problems whilst its off. If you do have a prob, and its resolved when you switch the old server back on, there are still things to move.

Also, if you try to uninstall exchange 2000 off the old server, it will not let you until all required compinents are transferred.

Hope this helps.
