Removing device drivers in Windows NT

How do I remove a device driver in Windows NT?  Does disabling it under devices do it?  Thanks.

Disabling it does not remove it. You have to remove it under the registry.<br>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services<br><br>Here you have all the devices you can find in the devices app. If you remove the hive of the device you want to install it will disappear. If you want to remove the physical file you have it specified under the value IMAGEPATH.<br><br>Regards<br><br>Lars<br>

Hehe not to be mean, but Microsoft doesnt know how to support their own product anyhow &nbsp;&nbsp;Learn the registry and Microsoft is a thing of the past.&nbsp;&nbsp;Good point though on the backup. Also you can export the keys your working on, that way all you need do is dbl click the file and it will reset the key for you, should you need to reset them back. <p>The Geek<br><a href=mailto: > </a><br><a href= > </a><br>Dont be afraid to share what you know.
