Hi,

I have a cisco 2950 which is part of a VTP domain so therefore tags all frames.

I need to remove all tagging from packets leaving port 21 as the frames are confusing the switch at the switch at the other end.

any advice on this greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance.

Pilgie!!

If you don't want your frames tagged, you can either make your switch port an access port or you can make the VLAN you don't want tagged the native VLAN on your trunk port - native VLANs don't get tagged.

Keep in mind that VTP has nothing to do with tagging. The switch will only tag frames on trunk ports. If you change the port type to "access", they won't get tagged. This is entirely distinct from VTP which passes information about VLANs between participating devices.
