With a phone system setup to restrict the dial of certain area codes (and international calls), how and where does one remove the restricitons for an individual extension?
Restrictions on an extension are enforced by assigning filters. Under Terminals & Sets you can change the filter assigned to the extension in question. Check the filter assigned to an unrestricted extension and then assign this filter to the currently restricted extension.
I assigned the 00 filter (under Terminals & Sets -> Restrictions -> Set restrns) to all the filter times (normal, night, evening...) and when I try to dial long distance or international, I still get the message "call restricted". Where else would this be set?
The line (as opposed to the set) could be restricted.
Are you sure you are getting this error message from the Norstar, and not your provider? If the restriction is on the norstar, the message will be on the phones display. If you are getting a recording it is from your provider.
The message "call restricted" is being displayed on the phone display. If the line is restricted, would the setting be in Terminals & Sets -> Restrictions -> Line restrn OR Lines -> Restrictions?
Other phones we have require the user to push a button and enter the extension in order to dial a restricted number. The phone being reconfigured, does not have that button.
