Removing backgrounds in Corel Draw 10

Could someone please tell me how to remove the backgrounds when exporting to jpeg? I've tried the way the instructions say, but the background still shows up. Also, am I the only person using CorelDraw10? Was there a problem with it i should know about? Thanks.

Every time I try to export an object in Corel Draw 10, to use with another program, a white background comes with it. I've turned off the "print and export background" option in PAGE SETUP, I've attempted to exported as several different file extensions, I've even had a friend who is pretty much an expert at Corel help me, but nothing works. I do have some bitmaps, dropshadows, and several layers grouped together. Could this be the problem? I'm creating a website and I need these objects as custom designs, so everything has to be grouped together this way. I just can't seem to get rid of that blasted white background! I'm at my wit's end. PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP!!!!

JPG does not support transparency - never has never will. You're not using the correct format. Actually, unless the image is a photograph, don't use JPG as the artifacting can be quite nasty - especially with text.

Depending upon what you're creating, it may be better to do some stuff in Photopaint. Dropshadows, especially, should be done in Photopaint and not Draw.

Can you post a link to some of the images so we can give you better direction in how to proceed?

Hey thanks for the tips. However, that doesn't quite address my specific issue. What I'm trying to do is utilize the designs and shapes I create in Draw in my webpages in Dreamweaver. I'm frustrated because it doesn't matter what type of file I save or export to, the Corel makes the background come with it. I've tried exporting to a bitmap in Photo-Paint and I get a message that says "Image will be exported with background" even though there isn't supposed to be any background, the programs i am using ALWAYS adds extra space. WHAT IS GOING ON??

well, as I said, you're probably using the wrong format - what verion of Draw are you using? Different versions have different export options. Are these shapes something that have to be created in Draw? Can they be created with ease in Photopaint? Give a link to one of the images so people can tell you what needs to be done. Without seeing it, there's no way to give a better answer.

I'm using Corel Draw 10. I edit my web pages in Dreamweaver, so I need to export my image files from Corel to Dreamweaver. Like, I said, I have tried working in Photo-Paint, too, but no matter what I do, the background still gets exported with the image. I have tried saving as .JPEG, .BMP, .BMP 02, .SWF, .SVG, .PNG. All formats export the background, whether I use Draw, Photo-Paint, or even Photoshop. Is this just the way it is or what? If you have ANY helpful suggestions, they would be much appreciated. Thanks.

well, you've ignored my request twice now. Give a link to an image so I can give you a better answer on how to proceed. If you're not willing to give a link to a test image, I'm gonna call it quits to this thread as you're making this far more difficult than it needs to be.

Hi, ever tried to export to GIF ?
As far as I know, GIF is the only format that provides the option to eliminate the background.
When exporting to GIF there are 3 steps, in the last one "GIF EXPORT" you have the option to select a image color with a pipette to select your transparency.

Done this with CDR 10 a lot of times and it works with CDR 11 aswell.
