remove sent mail from default mailbox view

Hi all
does anyone know how to change the default settings so the sent mail does not show in the default mailbox view? you can run a routine, macro, etc to change the view but the user doesn't want to see the sent mail other than by going to his sent mail folder. using Groupwise on BES.

Options -> General Options -> Hide Filed Messages:

Select "Yes".

Exit and Save this change.

thanks for the response, but it doesn't affect the display, as the incoming and outgoing mail are both displayed at the primary level - if a user files messages out of the mailbox then the 'hide filed messages' is very useful to keep things tidy. There must be a setting somewhere that defaults the primary message level to incoming messages only, I'll keep you posted if I find it!

Hi,

i had a blackberry user ask me this, and a solution that i created is:

Create a filter on the desktop, that says that anything that does not have your email address in the TO/CC/BCC field, will not be fowarded to the blackberry. The only sent emails that you will see are the ones you send from the blackberry.

hope this helped.... If anyone has a "cleaner" way of solving this, please let me know...

If your talking about the sent items from your Outlook showing up try this:

Messages\Options\Email Settings, click in and select 'Folder redirection' and uncheck the Sent Items folder.

If you don't want to see the stuff sent from the handheld go to messages, click 'view folder' from the menu and select the inbox and the sent stuff should be filtered out.
