Does anyone know where i can find some procedures to remove secondary sites? We have a couple of offices that closed down and I need to remove 2 sites.

Thanks in advance.

Simply right click the site and choose DELETE from the drop down box.

You will get this wizard:

Delete Secondary Site WizardThe Delete Secondary Site Wizard guides you through the steps necessary to delete a secondary site. As you complete the wizard, you are prompted to choose between the following options:

Delete the site
This option leaves Microsoft® Systems Management Server (SMS) installed on the secondary site, but removes all data about the secondary site and its resources from the database of the parent site. SMS sites above the parent in the site hierarchy are not notified.

Deinstall the site
This option removes SMS from the secondary site, and then removes all data about the secondary site and its resources from the database of the parent site, and all sites above the parent in the site hierarchy.

Great thanks ... looks like what i need to do is deinstall since both offices are gone. But I'm a little hesitant of the info: "then removes all data about the secondary site and its resources from the database of the parent site, and all sites above the parent in the site hierarchy.".

I like the 1st part but I'm afraid of the 2nd part: "all sites above the parent in the site hierarchy." ??? Deinstall is what I should do?

because you no longer have contact to the secondary sites ("looks like what i need to do is deinstall since both offices are gone"), you must choose DELETE THE Site.

oh i get it now ... yes both secondary servers no longer exist so I can't deinstall. I'll delete.

Thanks!
