Having trouble removing a "#" from the outpulse to the c/o for international phone numbers. Was able to do so by using route pattern, deleting all the digits, then re-inserting it. Connected to Sonus switch at the c/o which does not want to see the "#".

Where are you seeing the # character? If it in a "list trace tac {trunk group TAC code} then this normal. The pound is not passed to the CO but is an end of dial indication to the PBX. This will drop call classifiers on the PBX and any digits dialed after the # sign will be send using CO equipment.

I am seeing the # after on a list trace station...line item stating:
outpulse done 011xxxxxxxxxxx#. I need to remove that # for the sonus switch. The docs say if I am using signaling type "mf" then I can add a # to the inserted digits on the route pattern, haven't tried it yet. Not sure what signaling type "mf" is....

Thanks,

maybe if you create an ars entry with the exact number of digits? i.e. - maybe your current entry has something like 011 min-10/max-14 and you are dialing a 12 digit number so the switch is adding a termination # to the end? maybe another entry for min-12/max-12 would send it without the #? Might be worth a try.

I'm not sure about 8.3 but in later releases there is an option on some trunk groups, I believe page 2, to suppress the #.

I tried both of these, no luck. Thanks for the input, however.

Turns out it was a known issue, for later releases, but they had never seen it before in this release. Avaya techs now wrestling with it...we have done everything we could do.

Thanks all,
