I want to remove a disk from a SCSI attached tower. I'm pretty sure I know
which one it is based on the SCSI ID, but I want to make sure. I thought
there was a way to make the light flash on the hdisk in question using
smit. I looked in diag as well but couldn't find it.

this is from memory, so...

diag
-> service aids
-> hot plug task (you need to scroll down a bit)
-> SCSI hot plug manager
-> identify SCSI hot plug disk
-> choose your disk (it will be listed as "populated" because you already removed the device) and press enter, it will flash the disk light
-> locate the disk that is flashing
-> press enter again to stop the disk flashing light
-> F10 to exit diag service aids
-> F10 to exit diag

With the same hot-plug diag task you should be able to "hot-unplug" this disk from the attached storage tower.
