Due to downsizing we recently had some lines disconnected going from 5 to 3.

We are using the Meridian 7310 phones.

Now when an employee clicks on '9' or on the 'Line 4' or 'Line 5' buttons to get an external line they get dead air - as the system is looking for one of the disconnected lines.

How can I remove the disconnected numbers from the Line Pool? I am new to phone system administration and have gone through the manual but was inable to find anything helpful.

Thanks,
jwynne

Hello Jwynne,

You wil need to enter the admin mode (FEATURE ** ect.), then go to I belive Menu "A" witch depending on the system version you're running is called LINES or something to that efect. It has been awhile since I have worked on a Norstar but I think under Lines & Trunks enter the C.O. # ie. for Line 4 enter 004 and see how it is optioned.

Good luck :)

When you are in the programing for lines there is a menu call line pool just change the line pool access to a different line pool.

In programming mode go to the line data menu which is in Configuration, line data,...the lines you want will be 004 and 005 (or 031)depending on software and type of lines.
In the internal handling change the line type to public and that should do the trick. hope this is of use to you.
