Remove Domain Con... from AD? 1

I would like to know the correct way to completly remove a Domain Controller from my list of DC's in Active directory?
When right clicking and sellesting remove from list option is given, the resulting message displays "Cannot remove the DSA object".

Hi,

DCPROMO ran from the command line usually does the trick. Make sure you have all of your roles transferred form this DC before doing so.

If you have removed a DC from AD without using dcpromo you will have orphaned the associated object in AD.In order to correctly remove all remaining associations for the DC you will need to use the ADSI utility.
