Is there a way to remove the 'Control box' (Minimize/Maximise/Close) when a cmd batch file is running?

When 'staff' login, I have a batch file that needs to run every time. They get impatient and click the window that opens away, and when they see they do not have there applications they come running to me. Its a pain in the...

Thanks,

WinNT 4.0 sp6

Does the login allow you to run a PIF instead of a batch file and then edit the properties of the PIF to minimize?

I'm not sure I got the question right.

There is also this thing called ToglScr which switches screen sizes, it could be used to minimize the screen in any batch file (9x/me at least)

This seems like just a work around a aposed to the solution.

Is there a way that I can stop the 'Staff' closing the bat file when it is running in cmd?

You could always tell them not to do it. This even works sometimes!

I have been trying, but with a high turnover of staff, it takes up alot of time.

You could try running your batch file as a service. Srvany from the resource kit will enable you to do this.

You could also schedule the batch using the AT command, which will run the process in the background.

Good luck
John
