This may have been asked before, but I cannot find the answer, so here goes.

I have a network with about 30 users internally, and a growing private information store..!

We use allot of fairly large drawings internally, and use external consultants, to whom we send our files.

What I want to be able to stop, is when we send someone external a file, and copy the email internally, is there anyway in which I can prevent the attachment going internally as well, as this file is already on our internal network..

Regards

Andy

Preventing the attachment going locally as well isn't necessarily going to help unless the sender also deletes the sender also deletes their message from their send items folder.

See zbnet's FAQ faq10-6005 re storage. Read the reply to the question "I've deleted lots of email from the store, but this has freed up much less space that I think it should have - what has gone wrong?". This applies to Exchange 5.5 but is similar in later versions.

Hope this helps.

I did read on after posting this question, and stumbled across the Single Instance Arch'... MAde me think that, indeed, it shouldn't really make a great deal of difference.!

Thanks for the reply, sort of confirmed what I thought..
