I have a question on hos to remove a cluster from a server once it has been established, OS==> Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition

In the days of Windows 2000 Advanced Server, it was quite simple to remove an established cluster from a server by simply removing the windows component, however, in Windows 2003 Enterprise edition this option is not available.

Has anyone had the need to remove an established cluster environment from a windows 2003 server, and been successful?

To date, the only way I have found is to do a complete re-install of the OS.

I'm a test engineer and would like to find an easier way rather than rebuilding my servers once a week.

Thanks

I believe to remove a server from a cluster you just open up the cluster administrator and remove said server from the cluster. Then proceed to the next one etc….

To all, from myself.

I found the answer to removing the LAST node of a windows 2003 cluster.

To remove the last node of the cluster, thus removing ALL inferences to a cluster had ever being defined on the windows 2003 server, bring up a DOS (cmd32) window, then
using the "CLI commands" for clustering,
issue the 'cluster node [nodename] /force'

This command will remove all cluster dependancies and inferences with the enterprise server.
