Hi,All:

If I want to use administration tool from my desktop ( not console port) to monitor/manage user account, services and event viewer, what kind of component I should load on my NT4 station? I have a small NT4 domain. Myself is the admin.

Thanks!

Get the user manager and server manager executables - They are in WINNT\SYSTEM32 on your server (srvmgr.exe and usrmgr.exe)
For eventvwr just run EVENTVWR xxxxx (x=machine name or ip address)
Also a good idea to get NT Resource Kit - it has loads of useful things.

rclient is also handy if you need to run commands on the server.

Cheers.

Grab an NT server CD. Under \Clients\Srvtools\Winnt there is a setup.bat file. This will install:

User Manager for Domains
DHCP Admin
Policy Editor
RAS Admin
Server Manager and
WINS Admin

for use on your NT Workstation.

Hope this helps... - Bill
