I'm having problems installing the client remotely using the console. I can install the client manually and it works fine, but if possible I would to install it from my server. I go to all tasks and select install and choose advanced client, but it doesn't work. I've read online that if it isn't assigned to your site that you won't be able to accomplish this task. As far as I can tell when I check the properties it says that it's part of this site. What else should I check to fix this problem.

Thanks.

file and print sharing

what is the OS and sp level of the client?

I've checked the file and print sharing, as well as server and workstation services. I checked the CCM log on the SMS server and I don't see any logs for the dates that I've tried it. I see some for a couple weeks ago when my collegue was having difficulties installing the management point, but none for recently.

hmmm so on your clients are you seeing the ccmsetup folder in system32 showing up?

if it is, then is the ccm folder also showing up? If not take a look at the ccmsetup logs to see where it got stuck.

If ccmsetup isnt there, then its a rights issue. let me know where its stopping at.

No CCM folder is showing up on the clients. When I go to the logs on the server they cut off back in February. There are no new entries since then.

So make sure your boundaries are still set and that the client push account is still valid.

Are all the clients still showing as assigned in the all systems collection?

Make sure you dont have two copies of the log, if one is in use, or being viewed when another process tries to right to it, you will get a new logfile...

ie....
CCMSetup.log (original, if in use when SMS tries toright to it)
CCMSetup0603131005.log will be created (on date/time) and this will be used for new logs.
