how do i setup remote web workplace, ive been unsuccesful in my test and seraches. my internal website is also not working im unsure why. i have a webserver kinda it goes on 9090 as opposed to 80 i will be upgrading my services soon to allow 80 i will worry about it then. thanks in advanced for all help

You wouldn't need to do another reinstall.

I think you may need to be somehow connected to a network, even if it's just the server plugged into a small switch that's not plugged in anywhere. Basically, your network card needs to feel like it's live to do certain things.

well what ill do tomorrow or the day after is bring the server to the modem. i would assume 1 connection is incoming from my modem and the other connection goes out to the switch?

You should only need to plug a single network cable into your server (the other end should go into the switch).

The modem should plug into the switch, and then your server and the other workstations can plug into that same switch.

I assume that the modem does Network Address Translation, and that you don't need to go buy a broadband router and plug it in between your modem and your switch.

no i will need something to do the nat so ill have to keep the router in the loop thats why i said one in from the router one in from the switch, besides what if the switch goes down ill be able to still get to the server

NOTE it has worked before all of a sudden this haappen would me changing any ports in web cause this?

done it is all working except dns. how do i setup dns for internal.tauruscomputers.com, i attempted to make a nameserver but i dont think its working correct. i have everything registered with godaddy so ive been using there total dns control thing. any help would be great.

Your internal DNS should already be set up and working fine. If you need to (say, you used the same domain internally that you have externally), you can add a single DNS record that points to your external website IP, but don't mess around a lot with the rest of your server's DNS, as it's been set up to properly serve your internal environment.

yes my internal dns remains untouched, my internal domain is tauruscomputers.local, my domain name is tauruscomputers.com how would i go about setting this up

You want to use a specific name like "mail" or "remote" to point at your particular IP.

So in your GoDaddy console, create a new A-record and point it at your IP address. Let's say you use the name "mail". Then you'd rerun the Connect Internet Wizard and tell it that you want to use the name "mail.tauruscomputers.com" for your external name. Once you've done that, you should be able to go to to get Outlook Web Access or to use Remote Web Workplace.

To finish the project, I would go through the steps to order an SSL certificate from GoDaddy and use your external name when you set that certificate up. Then install that cert on your server. You'd need to do some research so that you'd know how to generate the certificate request and then install the cert once GoDaddy has sent it to you.

wow thats pretty much exactly what i was looking for. now what about isa server ive installed that and now when i click the internal site it says isa server blocks it internally.

off toppic is there a way to private message a member

also keep in mind port 80 is blocked untill the end of this week.

its all setup, even if you ping remote.tauruscomputers.com it gets replys from my server but for some reason it says the server takes to long to respond

internal error from isa server when i go to my internal site in server management it gives this error:
Technical Information (for support personnel)

Error Code: 403 Forbidden. The ISA Server denied the specified Uniform Resource Locator (URL). (12202)

maybe this has to do with the reason nothing working properly.

Personally, I don't believe in using ISA with SBS. I always use some sort of separate firewall device to protect the network. It makes SBS networking far less complex. All the SBS servers I manage only use a single NIC. Hopefully someone else can help you with your current issues, since I can't follow you into ISA.
