I can't seem to get Remote Web Workplace to run on SBS 2003. I type in https:\\servername\remote and I get page cannot be display.

I also look in C:\Inetpub\Remote which exist. I created a certificate which https does not work. I have tried everything but calling Microsoft which may be my next step.

For RWW to work, you have to forward port 4125 on your firewall to the server.

I open port 4125 on my firewall. I haven't setup ISA. Is that going to be a problem?

I tried which I get below

You are not authorized to view this page
The Web server you are attempting to reach has a list of IP addresses that are not allowed to access the Web site, and the IP address of your browsing computer is on this list.

I tried which I got below

The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.

The /ConnectComputer and /tsweb have nothing to do with Remote Web Workplace. ISA doesn't matter.

Have you tried https:\\ip address\remote?

I have tried https:\\10.0.0.17\remote and page cannot be display. I think the problem I am having is setting up IIS. I am trying to get it to work internally first since I don't know how to setup a website.

I look at the permission and gave IUSR and authenticated user modify permission.

There may be some DNS issue that I am not aware. When I am on a client computer, I can type \\Servername and it pops up all the share files after I enter the username and password.

As of right, I am at a lost. I have moved on to the Exchanged Server Setup. I plan to do as much as I can then call Microsoft to help me set what I couldn't figure out.

I will post a detail solution for Remote Work Place since I can't seem to get it to work.

Well, first of all, you shouldn't be touching the rights assigned to that user. When you setup SBS, Remote Web Workplace is automatically configured and setup.

Additionally, Exchange is automatically setup as well. If you're planning on calling Microsoft, have the credit card ready.

Have you rerun the CEICW?

58Sniper is bang on the money - it sounds like you havent followed the SBS install properly - are you just using the disks to install exchange - or did you actually go thru the sbs install procedure???

Also you mention that when you type in \\servername you then have to enter a username and password to access the shared resources, unless you have set it up purposely like this, it indicates a user or machine issue - perhaps that user doesnt have the appropraite rights or the machine is not properly joined to your domain - which would also indicate that the windows login details are not being passed on properly.

This resolution only applies to SBS Windows 2003 Server.

1. Uninstalled IIS
2. Reinstalled IIS
3. Created a virtual directory called Remote
4. Set home directory to c:\Inetpub\remote
5. Right click Default Web Site -> Properties
6. Under Home Directory -> Execute Permission -> Scripts and Excutables.
7. start->run->iisreset or reboot the server

This also help resolved Exchange Web as well.
