Hi

Running xp clients on windows 2003 does anyone know any good tools to remote turn PCs on?

And preferably to shutdown and restart them.

Cheers.

You need to enable Wake On Lan (WOL) in the BIOS, you then need to ensure that you allow UDP port #9 thru the network.

Once you have that done then you can use to send the magic packet thru the network and it 'should' wake the machine up.

To shutdown and restart just do a shutdown -i from a command line to bring up the gui for the shutdown command, this will allow you to restart a pc.

The real world is not about exam scores, it's about ability.
