I have have a Gigaset IP phone system connected via a VPN to the IP Office v8 system. The Gigaset has 3 sip accounts configured as 3rd party IP extensions.

The Gigaset works perfectly when calling extension to extension but as soon as I try to use the Gigaset to either call or receive from the analog trunks I get no audio in either direction.

Is this a setup problem on my part, a bug or do I need a teleworker licence for this to work?

No other licenses as 3th party extension license needed
try to disable "direct media path" in the voip settings of the SIP extensions in IP Office

If it ain't dutch it ain't much

Thank you for your response. I tried this and it has had the opposite effect. If I disable direct media path then I can no longer get audio from one extension to the other as well!.

This may help in identifying the problem. When Direct media path is disabled the call is routed through the system. This confirms that my IPO system is not able to do this for whatever reason.

The only thing I can identify is not having a teleworking licence. Can anybody please tell me when a teleworker licence is required?

My previous post may not have been completely clear. The Gigaset works perfectly when connected to the local LAN that the IPO is on.

The problem only occurs when the Gigaset is on a different LAN connected to the first via a VPN tunnel

Htnut, please go on a course.
You are asking too basic questions.

I understand that you have to learn but then start with the basics.

Your problem seems to be a routing issue.
Do you have an IProute in the IPO pointing to the router?

Make it like this to start with:

0.0.0.0
0.0.0.0
IPaddress of router

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I have an iproute without which I believe the calls will not go through at all.

The calls ring the appropriate number but just have no audio if routed via the VPN to the IPO and then to the PSTN

I appreciate you patience

You do have a VCM card?

Then you hsould have 10 VCM channels.
Is the codec the right one?

What type of Gigaset did you connect?

I believe the codec is correct as it works when going extension to extension.

The Gigaset base station is a N510 IP pro

BTW I have the same audio problem when using an Iphone Client (Bria or 3cxx) so I am pretty sure that the issue is the IPO not routing from the external network to the analog lines

But can you call from an extension on the IPO to the gigaset sip phones?

BAZINGA!

I am unable to try that now but I can call from the Iphone sip client and get audio. everything works normally except when it involves an anolog trunk

Can you tell me how you did setup the Gigaset 510?
And i mean all steps :)

I have once connected a Gigaset 300 which is similar.

I can do that tomorrow.

Seeing that the Gigaset works on the local LAN and all my problems (including the iPhone sip client) are with the remote VPN why do you think that the problem is with the gigaset setup and not something in IPO?

I would still appreciate it someone could explain the benefits of a teleworkers license

The problem will be a SIP ALG or similar in the router(s) creating the link, it isn't the handset or system if it works locally :)

Thanks for the suggestion amridle. I had set the sip alg to off on the routers (Draytek) when I was trying to get the Iphone clients to work.

I re-enabled it on both routers but unfortunately it did not solve the problem of no audio from the analog trunks. It did however stop the audio from the Iphone clients to the Gigaset client so it was a step backward.

Have you been successful in having a remote client IP make calls through IP office on analog trunks with Version 8?

Drayteks can be tricky, try putting it on 3.3.3 firmware, has solved multiple issues like this for me :)
