Remote shutdown !!!???

Hi all,

I have just heard my Win 2K Advance server box can be shutdown remotely, is it right ? ( some people say hackers can implement that easily ! because Win 2K is not much secure and suggest me to use Linux OS instead !? ). If so, please tell me how can I do that as well as how to prevent this problem .

i know about 10 different ways to shutdown Windows 2000 remotely, but you need to have administrator access for the domain or local machine for each way i know.
If u really want to be safe though, u will need to stop the RPC service, but this will cause problems with out windows software.
other than that im not much help
