Greetings folks,

I need to remove software from Win2k Machines remotely from my desktop. Can this be done?

The software needs to be removed with local admin access which the user's do not have.

I would like to remove this patch from the workstations from my desktop through command line if possible

currently, I am taking over the machine, running a batch file as administrator and doing it that way. I was hoping do get em all done from my desk ;)!

Any help would be great

Thank you

Please advise.

Outside of a thirdware utility (Dameware, SMS, Netmeeting remote desktop)) I don't think it's possible. If it was XP I'd say remote desktop, but that's not an option.

When deploying software through Group Policies there is an option to 'Remove previous installs of this product from computers, if the product was not installed by Group Policy-based software installation'. So I suppose in theory you could just redeploy the patch via Group Policy, ticking this option. The original install would be replaced by the Policy-based version. Then you remove the package from the Policy and specify to uninstall the software immediately. Might be worth a go?
