Hi,
i run a network of 700 computers for a local college, our team has been asked to install flash, shockwave and a few other applications to all these computers.
i dont want to go around manually as this will take AGES!
is there any way i can remotely install the software with my domain admin privs?
any help / advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
thanks a lot!

How is your network set up? There's a few ways to go about this, so it'll just boil down to the ones applicable to your LAN and your preference from there.

Hi,
we have about 400 windows XP clients and 300 windows nt clients, run off a win nt PDC. there are 6 delegated domain administrators for the whole domain.
hope this helps.
thanks again!
Darren

Depending on how many BDCs you have, your best bet may be to insert a IF/GOTO section in the login script then. For example, have it check if the C:\WINNT\system32\Macromed directory exists, and if not call the setup program.

An alternative, although it requires very specific addressing, is much quicker and less visible. If all of your workstations are the same model or a variety of only 2 or 3, you can copy the in-place software across to all workstations and then apply the registry entries by calling reg keys in the login script. This is how programs like Altiris work for remote installing, but it cna be very hardware-orientated.
