Hi All,

I have installed RIS on my Windows 2003 active directory server that has DNS and DHCP running on it.

I used Riprep tools to create Win 2000 Pro image on the RIS server.

I used another client of the same hardware resources to test my RIS.

When I started the client and select to boot from network. I supplied adminstrator account and password, I select the image on the RIS server.

At the middle of the text mode (when the client is copying the image), It gave this error mesage"

(The operating system image you selected does not contain the necessary drivers for your network adapter. Try selecting a different operating system image. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator)

Im sure the problem is not DHCP or DNS because I can see the RIS server and even the RIS image on the server.

Can anybody tell me what to do to rectify this problem.I will appreciate your contribution to this.

Thanks.

Leke

Something to think about:
RIS client requires a PXE (pre-boot execution environment) compliant network adapter. So it needs to have a PXE boot ROM.
(PXE DHCP-based boot ROM version .99c or greater or a network adapter supported by the RIS boot floppy. Always check with the manufacturer of your network adapter to get the latest version of the PXE ROM.) from this site:
Or you can use a RIS boot disk---pxe ROM emulator for net adaptors not compliant.

Thank you Tk808,

My workstation Network adapter is Intel(R) PRO/100 VE. Intel said the Intel® PRO/100 VE LANadapter does not have built-in remote boot capability according to this link (
They said I should ensure that my system BIOS include a compactible boot agent.

My problem is how do I know that my Bios include a compactible remote boot agent.

Your assistance on this will be appreciated.

Thanks.
