Hi Guys:

I'm here once again asking for something that I know is probably simple. I need to ini a switch remotely. I know it can be done, but can't remember how. Any help?

Thanks

Let me rewrite this so it makes more sense.

I have a loop (10) that is a point to point between the swtich and a fiber remote at another building. It's in red alarm and if I dis dch and disl 10; and then enable them again, it won't come up. Any suggestions? I'm working remotely..

Why do you think that an INI will help

Thanks Stone..
I just tried it and it says:

CCBR001
Check to make sure your data is correct and re-enter the command.

I did LD 143
and then XSL

I'm not sure if it will. I've tried everyting else there is to try, this is just my last hope.

1ST WAS THIS WORKING, IF SO TRY A LOOPBACK PLUG YOUR END SHOULD COME UP,THE DCH WILL NOT. IF IT DOES THEN YOU HAVE SOMETHING BETWEEN THAT POINT AND FAR END

XSL works only on Small System, CS 1000S, MG 1000B, or MG 1000T.

What do you have on the remote end ?

I'm 3000 miles away at the moment and can only log in remotely. It's an entire federal building down -- trying to do what I can until someone can get to site..

Did you ENLL 10 first, the DCH should come up on its own. A Red alarm is the other end so you may not beable to do any thing, it may be the provider.

To my knowledge you cant sys load fiber remote you can power down the cabinet but I would have the PRI checked at that end, call you local PRI provider and open trouble ticket and see if they can loop back both ends to find out where the problem is.

Right now, you only have the remote side down...a remote INI on a 61C with no one onsite - you run a risk of taking the main site down too...

Yeah, the chance is slim, but, its still a chance...

Try power up both end at the same time, just like ace suggested enll loop 10 and if every thing is fine the DCH will come up by at self.

the both ends together usually works.. did you clear the lcnt tables? rcnt.. if those numbers match the threshhold, the pri will not come up.. no one on site is a pain but i will not remote ini without a tech on site.. you can remote ini in pdt.. i've never used the 143 command

Recently we had the same problem here on our base. One of our Fiber remote Multi IPE interface went down. Causing one of our Superloops to go down. We had to replace the whole box to get it back up.

something to remember for future use...if you can't be onsite to reseat/reset MDSL or TMDI card.

use the command below: make sure ports are disabled and loop is disabled otherwise you'll get an error.

RST MSDL x or
RST TMDI x(if you have a tmdi on small system)

The command will do a software reset, run the command, wait a few minutes (you're waiting for the card to run throught the internal software diag - just like if you were to reseat a card onsite) also a good indicator if you have faulty hardware. The RST command will generate a XMI0001 code, if you don't get the XMI - replace the card.

This is off topic... sorry

Perrypj I found an old thread where you mentioned having Rolm manuals in pdf. I am looking for 9751 system 10 manuals if you have them I would like to get a copy. Thanks in advance

You have a red alarm, it does not see a connection.INI will not help..you should think of adding a backup T1 since a whole federal building is out from one span.Probably a bad cable or fiber something like that.
