Hi Everybody,
I am installing a 9150 unit and we have the link up i actually installed 2 at this site 9150 1 works fine no problems 9150 2 you program the phone CS2100 open up the ports on the Reach Line Card always restarting both sides after any program changes then x-connect the phone i get the blink time and date come up you press a key for dt the arrow comes on but no DT but you can complete the call you hear nothing but the call connects timer starts the link is up and right i am trying to get the io cable where i can connect a 25 pair to the RLC and change the phone to local to see if i get dt but i was wondering if anybody has any ideas thanks

That is 9150s and RLCs for ya :) I am SO glad I don't deal with them anymore (sorry just had to get that off my chest).

A) Did you try multiple phones - or is it a known good/working phone?
B) Are you sure you have all the configs correct?
C) Does the firmware on the working one match the non-working one? We had many issues with firmware.
D) Is the network configured properly? What is your round trip delay? You need to be under 200ms.
E) You say you get Time and Date on the phone - double-check to make sure the TN is enabled and maybe stat it to see if it goes busy when your arrow lights on your set when you are trying for dial tone.

Post your findings please.

I hear you these 9150s stink. I hooked up a modem to the RLC and gave ETAS access into the rlc and 9150 he checked everthing said it all looked good and its 2000 sets i hooked to it for testing. One piont you made i hooked up initially 3903s and the display were incorrect instead showing the exts. it was saying autodial. Is that a firmware issue? Since the it people got the links right some 3900 sets have the displays right. Thanks

From what I can gather from your post --- you say you first hooked up 2000 series sets for testing (and they worked fine?) If you then hooked up a 3900 set to 2000 series programming you will have incorrect placement of keys if it works at all. You will need to change the programming for each phone TN. It sounds like you don't do the phone Adds/Moves/Changes - is that correct?
It sounds like you need to make some phone programming changes. It is possible that you would get a dial tone with a 2000 build, but not with a 3900 phone on a 2000 build even though they are both digital sets.

No the programming is correct when i first put the systems in i used 3900 sets until i saw the display problem then i outed the lens (sl100 tns)and reprogrammed them as 2000 sets that is correct. You can get pretty tech with me i have been doing Nortel for 20 years going back to A switches single density stuff man those days were alot simpler. No besides the no DT i was wondering if there is some kind of conflict with 9150s and newer firmware 3900s
thanks

It is highly likely that there is a firmware conflict. What version F/W do you have on your 3900 and what version F/W do you have on your 9150?

How many phones do you have set on the 9150?

OK some good news i outed all the phones on the 9150 and started new now i am getting dial tone but the issue with the 3900s where you plug the phone in you see the exts for about 3 seconds then it says autodial if you press the key you get dialtone with the correct ext. the phones are rls 11 and the 9150 is 1.6.1 so some good news anyway

That is pretty strange ... works for 3 seconds and then changes to an Autodial key - but then you can press it and get dial tone and the right extension shows up??? WOW!

Yea I was wondering if you had too many phones built on the 9150. Good luck. I was thinking there is newer F/W than 1.6.1, but I have been outta the 9150 game for over 3 years now ;)

One more idea where would I find the round trip delay because after looking in the I and m manual under troubleshooting it says that if keys don't display correctly that there is a synch problem and it might be so minor that it only affects the 3900s thanks
