I have a Merlin R.7 that I set up an ext.(2-digit)for Tk-tk transfer and allowed remote forwarding. Also, CO trunks are set to reliable disconnect. The set will not allow me to forward it. It cuts off before I finish dialing the entire number. One more thing they appear to have been programmed like a KTS because they don't have an dial out pool. They don't dial 9 to get out.

Any help would be appreciated.

One more thing. The manual seems to contradict itself by advising you to dial #33 at one place and *33 at another place. Which is it?

There's no contradiction in the manual. *33# is used for Remote Call Forwarding with Simultaneous Alert only. For "ordinary" forwarding to an off-site number, dial *33 or press the [FEATURE] button, then dial 33. In both cases, the dial string is terminated with #.

You've solved the problem already: you don't have a dial out code. Without one, the PBX assumes that you are trying to forward to an extension.

Since the PBX is already set up as if it's a KTS, you could certainly change the mode to Key. There are no rules against RCF working in Key Mode.

But then again, Key Mode is weird. Why don't you just dedicate a couple of trunk to a pool for the occasion that you need RCF?

Thanks for the help. Your suggestion of dedicating a line or two to a pool seems like a good one. I'll give it a try.
