Wondering if anyone has the steps for getting Remote EDC to work similar to setting up Remote AlohaMgr? Reading a few other topics related to AlohaMgr, it sounds like all we need to do is copy over a shortcut to the remote computer and it automatically connects to the EDCSvr.
We are using Server 2003 for the server and attempting to connect via 32 bit XP. AlohaMgr is working without issue but the EDC keeps saying that it is unable to find the edc dcom server.

As a starting point make sure both computers are logged in with the same user with admin rights and both firewalls are turned off. On the server make sure DCOM access is allowed for that user in local security settings. Make sure remote access is allowed on the server for COM services under component services.

Can you confirm that actual setup on the client for Remote EDC? Since there are very few actual Remote EDC threads, we are following the general guideline of the AlohaMgr. Remote AlohaMgr involves copying the shortcut, and then adding /iberdir %server_aloha_path% /remote in the target. Would like to see if someone else has actually got the Remote EDC to function and what their working shortcut looks like. I will double check the security settings as you asked though.
