Can anyone recomend a good remote desktop program so I can use my windows xp machine to control my server? I can go through the NIC card or I can also use a serial cable. -Greg :-Q

Or just use a remote console (via ssh to be secure).

Check out "putty" for a very good one.

Or TerraTerm Pro with ssh extensions.
There really is so much to choose from.

VNC sucks but is free.

The coolest/nerdiest way is to put a serial cable in the Linux computer and run a terminal emulator on your windows box :)

use putty on your windows box to ssh to your linux box. Free and easy.

I have a question to add to this...

What if I want to use an actual hand held device (PDA, remote, etc) only to display and interact with a GUI running from my Linux server? I want to be able to interact with that GUI using a touch pad of some sort.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Laura
