hello
i was just reading an MS article on how to config RD
it said that all i need to do is launch RD from my home pc, give my work pc's name in the "remote desktop connection" popup then my user/passowrd/domain info on the login to windows popup.
Now, my question is how does the authentication mechanism find that computer(name)?
at the office we have 2003 AD, all xp and cisco 2500(NAT) router

thx

krenkey,
Using obscure ports and GPO's doesn't necessarily make you secure. All it takes is one "mistake" by a home user downloading a piece of software (riddled with "goodies") and your network is hosed. I also hope that you assign passwords manually, and don't allow user changes (users seem to like to use easy to remember passwords that in themselves can be a social attack nightmare).
As far as you being on them as fast as you can shake a stick, well, as fast as you can shake that stick, you now have a compromised network, and how would you "track" this script kiddie down, who uses zombies from other attacks?
