I know how to connect to another XP computer VIA remote desktop but is there anyway to see the actual screen that is open. I dont want another session I set this up with Windows 2000 thru netmeeting and it works great for troubleshooting. But netmeeting does not work in XP. Also how can you use remote desktop in XP to see a windows 2000 comupter.

I'm not sure what you mean by
'see the actual screen that is open' - what are you seeing if not the actual screen?

If Terminal Services is running on the W2K box, the XP Remote Desktop client can connect just fine..
I use it a lot to connect to W2K and XP boxes..

What I mean is if someone called with a problem and you wanted to see what they are looking at on the screen. The way it works now you see the desktop but if they had an application open you do not see that.

That's Remote Assistance. The user needs to allow it ->right click My Computer, Properties, Remote tab and make sure Remote Assistance is checked on the remote. Then, the remote user will have to send a Remote Assistance request to you. This can be done through Windows Messenger or e-mail.
