Our company has a development project that requires more HP workstations the we actually have. With the use of Exceed we're now sharing workstations.

My problem is that I have a couple workstations which I cannot exceed to - meaning I don't get the logon screen. This problem only exists only with a few workstations, not all of them.

I've made sure the hosts file contains the needed remote information and the /etc/rc.config.d/netconf looks the same (except for the ip address).

Could I be missing a process? or do I have a configuration problem?

Thanks,
Robert

Do the systems you can't connect to with Exceed have the same X11 and/or CDE filesets on them? Run an swlist -l fileset on a system you can use Exceed to connect and a system you can't and compare the two. Can you connect to the systems through a vt100 terminal (like a DOS box on Windows)?

The differences in the CDE filesets are:

CDEDevKit B.11.00.01 CDE Developer Kit
CDEDevKit.CDE-DEMOS B.11.00.01 Demo Applications
CDEDevKit.CDE-HELP-PRG B.11.00.01 Help Developer Apps
CDEDevKit.CDE-INC B.11.00.01 Header files
CDEDevKit.CDE-MAN-DEV B.11.00.01 Developer Man Pages
CDEDevKit.CDE-PRG B.11.00.01 Developer Libraries

and there no differences in the X11 filesets.

Are you trying to connect using the IP or the name of the workstations? (If you can't tell, you are getting close to the end of my X windows knowledge! I hope someone in the forum jumps in to help!)
