Quick Question...
I know there are 2 default Remote Desktop licenses (admin) you are allowed to use to remote desktop onto a server. If I want to upgrade from 2 sessions, and have 4 active remote desktop sessions active at once on a server, is this possible?

any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

You would need to put it into Terminal Server mode and also purchase Terminal Server licenses (approx. $75 per license). I would recommend User licenses instead of Device licenses.

Actually you can run 3 RDP connections (2 standard and 1 console). If you need more than this in terms of simultaneous connections, then you will need to go full blown Terminal Services

ok, thanks guys.

now my 2nd question is if i want to keep everything as is on the current server, and want to install terminal server (i've already purchased 2 extra remote CALS), do i have to put terminal server on a seperate server? also, if i did install terminal server on the current machine, would i have to re-install all the applications/programs/etc on that box?

thanks!

if you have users running applications and not admin'ing the server, then you need to buy another 2 seats.
