We use SMS mainly for remote control of our servers. I am in the middle of migrating them to a new address scheme. Once they are migrated to the different subnet from our site server then I can no longer control them. It appears that when you try to connect it sees the new address, but also sees the old address aswell.

Is there any hardcoded config I will need to change after making an IP address on servers?

thanks.

Just make sure that the boundaries have the new IP address in them... you could have to update each client as you move it also.

when I say ip address I meant to say ip the new ip subnet in the boundaries...if the old boundary is no longer used, then remove it.

I made sure all subnets where listed on the site server. How do you mean update all the clients? what exactly do I do? I have no experience of sms really - I am really a firewall/cisco person.

Thanks.

I'm making the assumption that you are manually changing the ip address on these so when you do that just go into the control panel to the systems management icon and on the sites tab just hit update.

If it is able to update then you should be good to go, if not then I would guess the boundary is incorrect, or for what ever reason you might have to re-install the client. I'd start checking logs out before I started re-installing clients though to figure out what was up (this is of course if you couldnt update, so its probably not an issue)

ok - i am changinfg the IPs manually on the servers - they are static addresses no DHCP is used.

When I try to connect using remote control the serve ris still lookingon the old address to connect. The update is greyed out on the client side.

Is there anywhere on the server side where I can manually change the clients IP address?
