Remote Control Service Disappearing

Does anyone have an idea as to why a remote control service would just disappear? I can fix it by running an smsclean utility and then resending a manual ccr to reinstall ALL services, but my question is, WHY IS IT HAPPENING in the first place? Thanks in advance for any help...

Client Services is enabled (service is started). Someone at MS said that cliverify cycle might be the culprit, but he didn't sound very convincing. He did state that he hadn't come accross this in the past but that colleagues pointed towards cliverify. What's your take on their suggestion?

For those of you who are wondering why I'm questioning Microsoft's judgement - well, let's just say that my brother would have no thumb if he would have listened to the first doctor that attended him at the hospital where he was taken to at the time of his "electric circular saw" accident.
