Is there a method to remote control a 2000 server built into the product itself?

W2K server comes bundled with a 2 user version of Terminal Services to be used for remote administration.

Go to Control Panel --> Add/Remove Programs --> Windows Components --> (not sure exactly, but I think it's under one of the networking headings) Terminal Services.....

Install terminal services and choose "remote administration" mode, NOT application server mode.

Once installed, you can administer terminal services and created client installation disks by going to Start -->Administrative tools

Hope that helps

Just a thought when you use a windowsxp work station you get a full screen with remote desktop. with win2k you get a small window.
I have also seen netmeeting used but I think that is very unsafe, you can also use VNC which is cheap(free) it all depends on what you want to see. if you want to see the realtime desktop use these two if you want to just administer then, really you should just stick with TS.
B-)

We use VNC and it works fine. Be sure to run it as a service so that it will always be there for you
