Hello All,

I was wondering in SMS 2003, is there a way to share the Remote Control tool with users? I would like to give the helpdesk (an Icon or Program) the option to use the Remote Control feature for troubleshooting with clients.

Thanks.

Sure.

On the SMS Admin Console go into "Security Rights" and create a new "Class Security Right", assign the users or groups that will need to use remote control, select "Collection", then grant at least "Use Remote Tools". You may also need to grant "Read" and/or "Read Resource".

You also need to install the SMS Admin Console on the machines of the people that will be using remote control so they can select the machine to remote control to. That is unless you use a third party script to do this, and there are plenty out there.

Thanks Bob.

It works great with my Admin account. But when I use the users account, they don't connect to the database. I did what you told me above. Is there something else I should do. Also, what's a good 3rd party company for this.
