One of my TSAC users has an HP 4050 series printer attached locally to LPT1 on their Windows 98 home system. I installed the 4050 PCL6 driver onto the Term server. I made no changes to the ntprint.inf. I did initially setup the ntsubprint.inf file according to the MS knowledgebase doc I then figured since I am using the same driver with the same name, I could rid the ntsubprint.inf registry reference.
When the TSAC client logs on the 4050 printer is mapped correctly as default however, another printer (hp deskject 950c) is also mapped. The user claims to have a Fax printer installed on the home system so my guess is the server is incorrectly mapping that printer as well as the actual 4050. According to the server event log the printers are working. According to the user this is not the case. She cannot print using Excel or any of the MS office suite which is installed on the Client desktop. I was able as administrator to take over the client's session and print a test page. But thats it. Any ideas? Should I reedit the registry to include an additional ntsubprint.inf file?
