Remote call forwarding

Is there a way to add a button that will allow users to forward phone calls to a remote phone number, then remove the forward when they return to the office?

Make sure your definity is capable of 'off pbx' and has lisc for EC500. If so, use the command: change off-pbx-telephone station-mapping XXXX Put in the number, ars, etc and then place EC500 on the station itself.

You could use EC500 as jamcb80 suggested in the thread above, however you could also use your call forwarding feature access code. COS option Restrict Call Fwd-Off Net must be flagged to "n" and COS feature Call Forwarding Busy/DA needs to be flagged to "y" on the COS of the station in question. Trunk to Trunk transfers must be enabled if calls come in one trunk and route out another.

Then you could program the feature code on a button with the phone number to be forwarded to.... *xx 9 xxx-xxxx

If the station has console permissions you must dial the feature code, then the extension, then the number...

I like "coverage remote" feature to do this. It allows you more control over who calls where. This can be added as part of their cover path. They can simply hit SAC to activate it.

I set up a secondary extension, set up a coverage path that points to a remote number and added the coverage path to the station. I then try send all call pointing to that extension but it didn't work. It I call the extension directly, it rings the remote number (my cell phone), but it will not ring my cell phone if I add send all calls to the extension that I created. I think I am asking too much of the system. What should I do to remedy this?

To do coverage remote in that fashion you must use ch coverage remote 1, add the number in question as you would dialing it, then change coverage path xx (whatever it is) of the station, then add the remote path ...so on the change coverage path xx add remote line 1 which would be r1 in the coverage path "point 1" field. If it was on line 2 would be r2 etc...

side note... make sure nobody else uses that coverage path.

I didn't do a very good job writing that up, I hope you understood...

That is exactly what I did, but I need to user to be able to add and remove the forwarding from his phone. Is there a way to do that?

You need to have this setup as the "next linkage" on the coverage path. Have everything set to "no" except SAC. On the first path, have everything set to "yes" except SAC. When you hit the SAC button it will follow the next linkage which would be your remote R1 cover path.

Let me know if you need more.
