I have a Merlin Magix Release 4
Equipped with:
slot 0 ---CKE Processor R 4
slot 1 ---412 TDL
slot 2 ---412 TDL
slot 3 ---Merlin messaging

I have an extension (171) with a call forward button.
when I place the extension in forward I dial 9 then the number followed by #.
I get a green LED showing that it is forwarded.
when I dial extension 171 from another extension it will forward to the desired off site number.
When the call is answered by the auto attendant and the customer selects extension 171 the call is transfered to the operator's extension (187).

Any ideas would be helpful

Thank you cmo101101

I would verify that the extension is in the call coverage group for voice mail (generally group 30). The only difference I see in the call handling you described is that in the first example it is a physical transfer (therefore the voice mail doesn't touch it) and through the auto attendant it is passed through the voice mail. If it isn't in the cover group, the auto attendant won't know what to do with it and will send it to the default cover position (the receptionist.)

System programming/start/extensions/more/group calling/30/enter extension number.

I have verified that the extension is in call group 30.
I tried going to the voicemail parameter for mailbox 171 and programmed it as not having a phone for that extension and now the call goes directly to the voicemailbox for extension 171.
So that verifies that the auto attendant is trnsfering the call to the correct extension.
I still dont get why it wont follow the call forwarding command.

The voice mail ports need to be enabled for Trunk to Trunk transfer, Remote Call Forwarding, Unrestricted, and their FRLs raised to 3.

Because they are not allowed these functions, they cannot transfer to an extension that is forwarded to an outside number, and the call reverts to the Operator.

You will find each of these settings in the Extensions menu. You will need to know the extension numbers of the voice mail ports.

I have already assigned the voicemail extensions to have remote call forwarding and also trk to trk transfer.
I will try changing them to unrestricted and also raise the FRLs.
I will let ya know how it turns out.

Thanks tommy.

Yes, that should fix it.

All VMI Ports default to ARS=0 and RESTRICTED.

Thank you all that was the problem.
