I installed SP1 on Windows 2003 server yesterday and last nights backup failed to back up any remote agents it's probably down to enhanced?? security features in 2003 any ideas what's got broken and how to fix it.
I'm having the same problem, but i'm not sure if it's due to SP1 or to Upgrading to Symantec backupExec 10d but I have one Win2000 Server that i was backing up with the remote agent that suddenly isn't working.
When i start the 2000 server it always comes up with an error saying a service dind't start - when i check the log it's always the remote agent.
I've been checking out this and tried a few things check out
KB892500 and KB873164 I think it's to do with DCOM permissions but I won't know until tomorrow if it worked or not. Why is every time you service pack something it breaks half a dozen more things.
To beholder95 the answer seems to be to add the bkexec user to the COM Security tab as detailed in kb892500 then stop and restart the bkexec services on all servers and remotes.
