Hi All,
W2k SP3 Backup Server running DDS4, BE v8.6 and OFO is backing up another W2k SP3 Server with two indentical spec HDD's (C$ and D$). Backup has been working fine but recently has begun to fail with Remote Agent problem. A single job definition backs up both HDD's (each with a single NTFS volume). When the job is run, the RA initialises perfectly for C$ and backs up the volume great. When it gets to D$ the RA initialisation fails with following error...:
"Remote Agent for Windows NT/2000 not present - performing standard backup
WARNING: Media servers cannot completely protect remote
Windows 2000 servers or workstations unless the Backup
Exec Remote Agent for Windows NT/2000 is installed
and running on each remote Windows 2000 server or
workstation to be protected. Data loss can occur if the
Remote Agent for Windows NT/2000 is not running
while backing up remote Windows 2000 computers."
I have reinstalled the RA silently from CD directly on the machine to be backed up, services say it's running great, and indeed it does for one volume, not the other. Both machines restarted several times.
I am wondering if it's coincidence that I went to SP3 last week and it hasn't worked since - anyone know if there's any issues...?
Any pointers appreciated, thanks in advance,
IK
