I am having a problem dialing into my system remotely. I checked the dialtone and modem on both ends and they are ok. it has been working for the past 5 years without a problem, is there anything i can do onsite to correct this problem..
 
What system is it and what is happening when you dial in?
 
It's a definity proligix system and when i call i get ring no answer.
 
I would reccomend you power down and up the external modem. I also have a Prologix and that happened to me ONCE so far.

What happens when you call the remote access line from a standard phone? Do you hear a ring na or does the modem try to negotiate?

i tried powering the modem on and off. i even tried another modem that i know works but still ring no answer...
 
check your system parameters maintenance. This settings control the modem. I have had several cases in which i have had to reboot the processor to get the modem working again. Also check your cable that goes from the backplane to the modem.
 
I've had problems with how I am calling into Prologix's. On some I've changed to routing to only go out on CO trunks. Other I would have problems with ASA but not with ProComm.
