I have a couple upper management people wanting easy access to our Definity. I haven't quite perfected the remote access, could anybody send a link with instructions?

Also is anyone using the Definity with any other remote access hardware?

Hi mpowell

Try "Disp Rem" extension.If not configured make one.Now any party calling this extension will hear the dial tone from ur PBX.You can fine tune security by adding a barrier code on this extension.

Thanks, that seems to have done it, although I hear a short "squeal" before the dial tone. Any ideas what causes that?

I have the security setup and will limit the users to keep this from being abused.

Check if ur definity system is properly earthed.

I discovered the "squeal" or what it's purpose is.
If barrier codes are administered, a special answer-back tone is provided that causes a calling modem to leave dial mode. A modem's dialer is sometimes used to gain access (this tone also cancels echo suppressors in the network preventing DTMF tones from breaking dial tone from a switch.)

Can anyone tell me where I could find instructions for installing a Definity carrier shelf into a multi-carrier cabinet? I am looking for both the hardware and software instructions to do this.

Don't forget in remote access to enter barrier code.
In this moment a lot of remote access have pb with Hackers.
sometimes used this command:
monitor security-violations remote-access

disp rem didn't work for me ... is it a command for newer versions? I'm on 8.x today.

Check with status remote for know if your remote is enable
